  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 36 –40 milk chocolate kisses unwrapped
  • Flavor Base
  • 1 3 oz box strawberry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pantry Staples
  • cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and strawberry gelatin until evenly combined and pink.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and roll lightly between palms. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, until cookies are set but not browned.
  • Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss gently into the center of each cookie.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake—cookies should remain pale and soft.
  • Press kisses gently to avoid cracking the cookies.
  • If dough feels too warm or sticky, chill for 15–20 minutes before baking.
