Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Butter provides the rich base for the marinade.

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness to the dish.
  • to taste Salt and pepper For additional seasoning.
  • as needed Wooden or metal skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes prior to grilling.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Allow the mixture to cook for 2-3 minutes, letting all the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Thread the shrimp and sliced sausage onto your skewers, alternating between the two.
  • Brush the skewers generously with the Cajun butter marinade. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes to ensure the shrimp absorb all that zesty goodness.
  • Heat your grill to medium-high. If you are using wooden skewers, make sure to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Cooking

  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, and the sausage gets nice grill marks.
  • Remove skewers from the grill and let rest for a minute. Drizzle any remaining Cajun butter sauce over the skewers for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

Serve with Cajun rice, corn on the cob, or a fresh salad to balance the dish's richness. Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
