Ingredients

Pancake Batter Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour This forms the base of your pancake batter.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar For a hint of sweetness.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder To ensure they rise and remain fluffy.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 cup milk You can use regular, almond, or oat milk for variation.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter This adds richness to the pancakes.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate, depending on your preference.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold until just combined; some lumps are okay.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.

Cooking

  • Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Transfer your pancakes to a plate. Serve them warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or additional chocolate chips if desired.

Notes

Allow the batter to rest for about 5 minutes for fluffier pancakes. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough pancakes.
