Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons butter softened
  • Flavor Base & Sweeteners
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pantry Staples
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 –2 teaspoons coconut oil or shortening optional, for smoother chocolate

Instructions
 

  • Prep
  • Line a baking sheet or small pan with parchment paper.
  • Lightly grease heart molds if using.
  • Make the Peanut Butter Filling
  • In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Mix until smooth, thick, and well combined.
  • Shape the Hearts
  • Shape mixture into heart shapes by hand or press into heart molds.
  • Place on prepared parchment-lined pan.
  • Chill for 20–30 minutes until firm.
  • Melt the Chocolate
  • Melt chocolate gently in the microwave (30-second intervals, stirring) or over a double boiler.
  • Stir in coconut oil if using.
  • Coat the Hearts
  • Dip chilled hearts into melted chocolate or spoon chocolate over the tops.
  • Return to parchment-lined pan.
  • Set
  • Chill for 15–20 minutes, until chocolate is fully set.

Notes

  • Use smooth peanut butter for the creamiest texture.
  • Avoid overheating chocolate to keep it glossy and smooth.
  • Let hearts sit at room temperature briefly before serving for best texture.
