Main Ingredients

  • 1 large apple, cored and sliced Choose tart apples like Granny Smith or Fuji.
  • 1 cup mini pretzels Use gluten-free pretzels for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Ensure the caramel is not too hot to avoid stickiness.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Variety of chocolate can be used (dark, milk, or white).
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil Optional, for smoother melting of chocolate.
  • sea salt Optional for sprinkling over chocolate.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the apple and slice it into bite-sized wedges.

Melting the Caramel

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the caramel sauce in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted.

Dipping the Apples

  • Dip each apple slice into the caramel sauce, ensuring it's evenly coated.
  • Let excess caramel drip off before placing on a parchment-lined tray.

Adding Pretzels

  • While the caramel is still sticky, gently press a mini pretzel onto one side of each caramel-coated apple slice.

Melting the Chocolate

  • Melt the chocolate chips in a separate bowl, adding coconut oil if desired, until silky and smooth.

Drizzling with Chocolate

  • Dip or drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel-coated apple slices and pretzels.
  • Use a fork for a fun zig-zag effect.

Finishing Touches

  • Sprinkle with sea salt if desired before the chocolate sets.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until chocolate and caramel harden.
