- Main Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 24 wonton wrappers
- 1½ cups shredded cheese cheddar, Mexican blend, or Colby Jack
- Seasonings & Flavor Base
- 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade equivalent
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Pantry Staples
- Olive oil or cooking spray
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional Toppings
- Sour cream
- Salsa or pico de gallo
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Jalapeños
Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly spray a muffin tin with cooking spray.
Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup.
Pre-Bake the Shells
Bake wonton wrappers for 5–7 minutes, until lightly golden and crisp.
Cook the Filling
While shells bake, cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
Drain excess grease.
Stir in taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and a splash of water.
Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
Assemble
Spoon seasoned beef evenly into each wonton cup.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Bake
Return to oven and bake 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
Cool for 2–3 minutes before removing from the pan.
Add toppings just before serving.
