  • 2 cups cooked white or jasmine rice
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • Sauce & Seasonings
  • cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Pantry Staples
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or neutral oil
  • Salt if needed
  • Sesame seeds for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Rice
  • Cook rice according to package instructions if not already prepared. Set aside.
  • Cook the Beef
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart as it browns.
  • Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Add Aromatics & Sauce
  • Stir in garlic and ginger. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef.
  • Cook Vegetables
  • Push beef to one side of the skillet (or remove temporarily).
  • Add a small drizzle of oil if needed.
  • Sauté broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Combine
  • Stir vegetables into the beef mixture until evenly combined.
  • Assemble Bowls
  • Divide rice into serving bowls.
  • Spoon hoisin beef and vegetables over rice.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve warm.
