  • 6 –8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup cold filtered water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional Flavor Add-Ins
  • 1 –2 tsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 –2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt enhances flavor
  • For Mixing
  • 2 –3 tbsp hot water not boiling

Instructions

  • Rinse mint leaves and gently pat dry.
  • Sift matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  • Add hot (not boiling) water to the matcha.
  • Whisk until smooth and lightly frothy.
  • In a glass, gently muddle mint leaves with sweetener if using.
  • Fill the glass with ice.
  • Pour in the matcha mixture.
  • Top with cold water and stir gently.
  • Let sit for 2–3 minutes to allow mint to infuse.
  • Add lemon juice if desired and serve cold.

Notes

  • Avoid boiling water—it can make matcha bitter.
  • Do not over-muddle mint; light pressure releases flavor without bitterness.
  • Stir before drinking if the matcha settles.
