Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 4 pieces ripe pears, peeled and sliced Choose ripe pears for the best results.

For the crumble topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the peeled and sliced pears. Optionally toss with a splash of lemon juice.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a baking dish, arrange the sliced pears at the bottom and sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the top.

Baking

  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden-brown and the pears are bubbling.

Serving

  • Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or custard. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
