Ingredients
  

Basic Ingredients

  • 2 cups Pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli)
  • 4 cups Liquid (chicken or vegetable broth or water) Stock is preferred for richer flavor.
  • 2 cups Vegetables (bell peppers, spinach, or cherry tomatoes) Fresh or frozen.
  • 1 cup Protein (chicken, sausage, shrimp, or legumes) For vegetarian option use legumes.
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Chopped or minced.
  • 1 teaspoon Basil Fresh or dried.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes For added spice.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In your pot, add a splash of olive oil and sauté garlic and any other aromatics until fragrant.
  • If using meat, add it to the pot and brown it slightly.
  • Toss in your chosen vegetables and sauté until just tender.

Cooking

  • Add the uncooked pasta, then pour in enough liquid to cover everything by about an inch.
  • Stir in herbs, spices, and any additional sauces. Bring it all to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and cover the pot. Let it simmer, stirring occasionally until the pasta is cooked and the sauce thickens.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning, then serve hot with freshly grated cheese or a drizzle of olive oil.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat gently with a splash of water or broth.
