Pasta Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (linguine or fettuccine)

Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh or smoked salmon, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed and drained
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or a lighter alternative)
  • 1 unit Juice of 1 lemon
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh dill or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Cooking the Pasta

  • Begin by boiling water in a large pot. Add a generous pinch of salt and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.

Sautéing Garlic and Salmon

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute). Then, gently add the salmon pieces, cooking until they are just heated through.

Adding Capers and Cream

  • Incorporate the capers and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to blend everything together. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Combining with Pasta

  • Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, mixing until well combined. Use the reserved pasta water as needed to achieve the desired creamy consistency.

Finishing Touches

  • Squeeze the lemon juice over the pasta and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Garnishing and Serving

  • Plate your pasta, sprinkle with fresh dill or parsley, and enjoy!

Notes
