  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup nut butter (such as almond or peanut butter) Substitute based on preference.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Adjust for sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips Use dairy-free for vegan option.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, cocoa powder, and shredded coconut.
  • In another bowl, mix the nut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until everything is coated. Add chocolate chips and mix well.
  • Scoop out the mixture and roll it into balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  • Place the formed balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Serving

  • Enjoy the protein balls immediately or store them in the refrigerator for later.

Notes

For a different flavor, consider dipping the balls in melted dark chocolate or sprinkling them with sea salt. They can be customized with chia seeds, flaxseed meal, or protein powder. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
