Ingredients

  • Strawberry Filling
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Cobbler Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon optional
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare strawberries: Add strawberries to the baking dish. Toss with sugar and lemon juice. Spread evenly.
  • Make batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Assemble: Pour batter evenly over the strawberries. Do not stir.
  • Bake: Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  • Rest: Let rest 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If strawberries are very juicy, drain off a little excess liquid before baking.
  • Do not overmix the batter—stir just until combined.
  • Cobbler will thicken as it cools slightly.
