Preparation

  • Start by cutting up the watermelon, removing the seeds, and chopping it into smaller pieces.

Blending

  • Place the watermelon pieces in a blender or food processor. Add the sugar, lime or lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  • Blend until it becomes a uniform puree, ensuring there are no large chunks remaining.

Freezing

  • Transfer the puree into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer. Stir every 30 minutes for the first 2-3 hours to break up any ice crystals.
  • After about 4-6 hours of freezing, your watermelon sorbet is ready! Scoop it into bowls and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Store sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer. If it hardens too much, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping to soften.
